Ali Al-Shabibi

Ali is a partner at KPMG in Qatar where he leads the firm’s Governance & Risk, Business Transformation and ESG service lines. He has over 30 years of professional experience.

Ali started his career in London where he attained his chartered accounting qualification. Subsequently he spent a number of years in KPMG UK’s financial services line of business where he served clients such as Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Credit Suisse.

In 2001 he moved on a 3-year secondment to KPMG Singapore to help set up the Risk Consulting practice where he headed the Enterprise Risk Management service for the firm. Ali moved to the region in 2003 to set up and lead the Risk Advisory practice at EY in Dubai until 2012 when he took up the role of COO at an industrial family group responsible for the risk management, business transformation and HR.

In additional Ali held a number of independent board appointments including a chairmanship of an audit committee.

Ali is a keen cyclist where he spends most weekends on his bicycle clocking up the kilometers. He is a big supporter of Arsenal football, a team that he supported from the age of 6.
