Yasser Refaie

Dr. Yasser Refaie is a distinguished legal professional with a remarkable career spanning several decades. Since 2017, he has served as the Acting Director of the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center in Doha, Qatar.

 Prior to his directorship, Dr. Refaie held the position of Deputy Director at the center since 2014.

Dr. Refaie's extensive legal experience extends back to 1994 when he began his career as a Public Prosecutor in Egypt. Over the years, he has served as a Chief Prosecutor and Judge in Egypt; notably, his work in the Technical Bureau and International Cooperation Bureau in the Egyptian Public Prosecution was instrumental in focusing on asset recovery, particularly in the post-2011 era. 

Before taking on his current role, he served as the President of the Court of Appeal of the Alexandria High Court of Appeal in Egypt. 

His tenure as Chief Prosecutor at the Attorney General's office in Egypt involved critical responsibilities related to asset recovery requests. 

From 2012, Dr Refaie also worked within the Technical Bureau and International Cooperation Bureau of the Attorney General’s Office at the Public Prosecution of the State of Qatar, where his role focused again on international cooperation and mutual legal assistance requests.
